Interviews begin this week for deputy treasurer

Five applicants of the 11 who applied for the Prairie County deputy treasurer position are being interviewed this week, according to county treasurer Jamie Smith.

“We had a lot of really good applicants, very qualified,” Smith said Tuesday.
Former deputy treasurer Lucinda Plaisted, who had worked in the treasurer’s office for three and a half years, resigned from the position and is now working as the secretary at the county attorney’s office. Plaisted completed her final day at the treasurer’s office Friday, Dec. 2.
