Region’s economic group to host community meetings

The Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation (EPEDC), serving Carter, Dawson, Fallon, Prairie, and Wibaux Counties, as well as their respective communities, is in the process of rewriting and updating its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) document.

The document analyzes local conditions and trends, identifies problems and opportunities, and establishes goals, objectives and strategies that address regional needs.
The CEDS is intended to create an on-going foundation for future economic planning and activity in the region.
The planning process involves gathering valuable input from individuals and organizations within the EPEDC area. Therefore, the EPEDC will be hosting open meetings in each of the counties to help evaluate the organization’s compiled research and gain input from community members regarding local needs.
The meetings for each county have been scheduled as follows:
Carter County, 10 a.m., April 23 (Carter County Courthouse-Commission Chambers)
Fallon County, 1 p.m., April 23 (Fallon County Courthouse-Commission Chambers)
Dawson County, 9:30 a.m., April 25 (Mid-Rivers Service Center Community Room)
Wibaux County, 10 a.m., April 30 (Wibaux County Courthouse-Commission Chambers)
Prairie County, 1:30 p.m., April 30 (Prairie County Courthouse-Commission Chambers)
Please plan to attend.  If you have any questions or you would like more information, please contact EPEDC Executive Director Jason Rittal at 406-698-3255 or email
