Town Council to discuss soon to be vacated seat
Town council person Kathy Hickman announced at the June 6 special town council meeting that she will be vacating her seat, effective July 1. Hickman, who serves as council person for Ward II of Terry, will be relocating to Big Sandy, Mont., at the end of the month where her husband Rod has accepted a position in family practice with the Big Sandy Medical Center. Hickman began serving for the Ward II seat in January, representing Terry residents east of Logan Ave. Hickman also serves on the recently created Town Land Planning Board.
Her vacated seat will be one of the topics up for discussion during the council’s special meeting next Wednesday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. The council has 30 days after the seat is vacated to appoint someone to serve. The newly appointed council person will serve until the next municipal election which according to Town Clerk Lynn Strasheim will be November 2013.
Other topics that will be covered during the June 27 meeting will include the 2012-13 town budget and the public safety interlocal agreement between the town and county.
