Comments sought on proposed work to open Old Highway 10 between Terry and Fallon

From Montana Department of Transportation

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a surface reconstruction project to repair a 0.6 mile segment along the Frontage Road (Old Highway 10) located approximately 3 miles southwest of Fallon, beginning at  Reference Marker 26.7  and concluding at Reference Marker 27.3.

The proposed reconstruction project was nominated to repair the road damaged during heavy rainfall events during the spring of 2011.  The road is currently closed. The intent of this project is to stabilize the embankments and reconstruct the roadway in order to reopen the road to the public.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2013, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.
New right-of way and relocation of utilities may be required.  MDT’s consultant will contact all affected landowners prior to doing survey work on their land. Should new right-of-way and/or relocation of utilities be necessary, MDT staff will contact landowners prior to construction regarding property acquisition and temporary construction permits.
