The sounds of the season will be heard Sunday, Dec. 30, at 2:30 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, as the Christmas Cantata continues its preparations. Performers include 26 participants presenting “Hope Has Hands” — a musical written and arranged by Russell Mauldin.
Several familiar Christmas carols are included as well as songs with a Latin groove and Southern gospel feel.
Everyone is invited to come and hear Simeon and Anna share their story of when God's timetable was completed. There will also be several Christmas specials.
Refreshments and fellowship will immediately follow the presentation.
"It has been fun working together with friends of the community in order to share this story in a new way,” said Rev. Neva Rathbun, director of the choir. “Be sure to mark your calendars and come."
