Few attend annual economic meeting

About ten individuals attended the annual Prairie County Economic Development Council meeting Tuesday evening, where future plans for VISTA volunteers, the Cameron diary project and hiking trails were discussed.

Those attending primarily consisted of town council members and EDC members, Lance Kalfell, Sharla Sackman and Tracey Feickert.
The Evelyn Cameron Foundation has filed articles of incorporation to become an independent organization, rather than a subcommittee of the EDC, according to a fact sheet provided at the meeting. The foundation, which is assuming a new name as Evelyn Cameron Heritage, Inc. will continue to raise funds to rehabilitate the Rialto building and is also planning on showcasing a traveling exhibit for the 125th Stockgrowers Convention to be held in Miles City in June.
The Cameron Diary project, headed up by Wynona Breen, has completed eight years worth in the transcribing project of Evelyn Cameron diaries. Copies are being given to the Montana Historical Society, county museum and Evelyn Cameron Heritage, Inc.
