Another solid track team expected this season

Terry High School’s track team is starting out on firm footing, according to head coach Leann Lantis.

With one week of practice under their belts focused on conditioning, the track team has begun working this week on a few techniques for field and running events.
“I’m expecting great things from this group of kids,” said Lantis. “They’re willing to work hard.”
Eight of those participating this year, qualified for last year’s state meet in Butte, with three of those achieving state placing — they are: Caty Morrison and brother and sister long-distance runners Layne and Caitlin Lantis.
The team spent part of last week conditioning along the hills of Terry’s Badlands, north of town. Weather permitting the first meet will be in Glasgow, March 28, which is a little earlier than typically scheduled in previous years.
This year’s schedule also includes a meet in Dickinson, set for April 23.
