With the conclusion of Terry Baseball’s 2013 season, parents and loyal fans are gently reminded of the swiftness of summer days and the fun events they bring — like backyard barbecues, outdoor excersions and annual community events. Before we know it the dog days of summer will be long past with the hues of autumn encroaching upon us.
Next week the Terry Roping Club will be putting on their annual 4th of July Rodeo. July will conclude with Terry’s favorite Yippee! Day, sponsored by the Prairie County Chamber of Commerce which will quickly be followed by the Prairie County Fair. Taking in one or two or all of the activities offered can be a full-time undertaking, especially considering family gatherings and outings already on tap.
So here’s to all of the community events planned, those working behind the scenes to make them happen and to all those who plan on attending. Whether you make it to this year’s rodeo, or the always entertaining performance of the Parched Prairie Players, or simply prepare your home and meals for the friends and family who will be attending — here’s to another fun summer!
Take in all that you can, ever mindful that the snowboots and shovels are just around the corner.
