Pastor of Presbyterian and Hope Lutheran churches honored at retirement gathering

Members and friends of Community Presbyterian Church, Terry,
and Hope Lutheran Church, Fallon,  hosted a picnic in the Fallon Park on Sunday, July 14, 2013, honoring the Rev. Leon Rathbun for his 15 years of pastoral service, and for both congregations' 25 years of  Shared Ministry together.
Rev. Rathbun received a call to serve as Minister of Word and Sacrament on August 1, 1998, and requested retirement as of July 1, 2013.  He was honored with many cards and gifts.
Rathbun is an avid turkey hunter and enjoys both seasons.  Reloading his own shells is a hobby and he plans to do more in his spare time. He will also continue his early morning 3 mile walks and  his reading.
Leon and his wife, Rev. Neva Rathbun, purchased their home in Terry several years ago and plan to remain here in their retirement. They are spending time in their yard
doing some landscaping.
Their grown children and families live in Midwest City, Oklahoma; Post, Texas; and Pueblo, Colorado so they will continue making the rounds visiting with them as often as they can.
