Bunke serves as town’s interim attorney

Prairie County Attorney Garry Bunke has been serving as the interim town attorney since the beginning of July.

His post as town attorney will conclude once the town council selects between two candidates vying for the position. The council is expected to make a decision during their August meeting, Bunke said.
As part of his duties as town attorney, Bunke addressed a July 9 letter to Tom Yeager, owner of a rabbitry business, reminding Yeager of the town’s livestock ordinance. The letter came about as a verbal request from Yeager concerning the time period he had to get his numbers down in order to meet compliance.
Yeager has 30 days, from the date of the letter, to  meet the 20 maximum limit. He may also apply for a livestock permit.
