Weekend of entertainment planned for county fair

  Preparations for the 2013 Prairie County Fair are underway as traditional favorites will be featured this year at the fair from August 1 through the 4.

Open class entries will be accepted Thursday, August 1st, from noon to 8:30 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. Judging will take place Friday morning. 
The 4-H and Open Class Horse Show will take place on Thursday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Friday opens with the 4-H and Open Class livestock show at 8:00 a.m. where swine, sheep, goat, and beef classes will be judged. The Round Robin Showmanship contest and a 4-H Small Animal Project Exhibition will take place on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
Friday evening will wrap up with the performance of “The Treasure of Shiver River,” by the Parched Prairie Players Featured entertainment prior to the play will be 4-H Sewing Revue. 
A parade downtown in Terry, featuring the theme “Country Roots and Cowboy Boots” will kick off Saturday’s events at 10:00 a.m. 
The Prairie Action League will host an action-packed Bump & Run in front of the grandstands beginning at 12:30 p.m. 
4-H members will offer their market livestock for sale at the 4-H Livestock  Sale in the afternoon. Saturday evening’s night show will feature The Teka Brock Band. 
Sunday begins with a Community Church Service at the grandstands at 10:00 a.m. 
The Terry Roping Club Rodeo Queen Contest will also take place at 10:00 a.m. in the show arena next to the Livestock Barn. These events will be followed by the annual Prairie County Homemaker Pie Auction at noon.  
The Roping Club will present a Ranch Rodeo beginning at 1:30 p.m. 
  Jumpin Beans Bounce Houses and Inflatables will be on the grounds for children Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A great variety of concessions will be offered.
