Racing into Yippee celebration

The 32nd annual Terry Yippee appeared to have the heavenly touch of approval with mild temperatures hovering in the high 70s for the day’s events and the absence of rain showers dooming the evening street dance — which in recent years seems to have become an almost traditional occurrence.

The July 27 town wide celebration dashed into full gear with Yippee’s 5k and 10k morning runs that brought in 67 competitors. A fun run for younger children was also offered.
Murn Park was nearly entirely circled with vehicles as people gathered for the cornhole tournament and afternoon barbecue. Fifty-one teams entered the Prairie Community Hospital Foundation’s cornhole tournament.

Other events, including the Memories Tour, Lemons and Leftovers sidewalk sale and evening street dance were also well attended, according to organizers. More pictures and Yippee details can be found on page 8 and 9 of the Tribune.
