Fallon postal customers see changes

Rosita Wears, the Officer in Charge at the Fallon Post Office, outlined several changes to take effect Sept. 9 at the small but popular postal building. Wears, who began her duties as the OIC in March after the retirement of Jo Ausk, explained that the office hours will be shortened from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday. Parcel lockers will soon be installed in the lobby to ensure postal customers receive their packages. The outside collection pick up time will also be extended to 4:30 p.m.
Although not a popular change with many Fallon residents Wears said that the shortened hours are better than the alternative — closing the Fallon Post Office altogether.
Wears and her husband John have lived in Fallon for two years and moved to Montana from Everette, Wash., three years earlier.
