Educational grants offered to those in telephone co-op area

Mid-Rivers Telephone Cooperative, Inc. is proud to announce a new Educational Grant Program for eligible applicants within the Mid-Rivers service area. This grant opportunity is made possible by the Mid-Rivers Fund for Education, which under Montana law must be utilized for educational purposes. As a community partner, Mid-Rivers is dedicated to helping our rural educators meet the challenge of accessing the technology and tools they need to insure our students can continue to excel.

Accredited educational facilities, including public, private and home school, and non-profit entities with an educational mission located within the Mid-Rivers telephone, Internet, cable television and/or cellular service area, are eligible to apply.  The maximum grant request is $5,000.  There is no minimum grant request.
Projects must be for educational purposes benefitting Mid-Rivers’ members and customers and their families.  Educational purposes may include Pre-K-12, postsecondary, continuing/adult, and/or workforce education.  Preference will be given to projects that employ technology or telecommunications and propose innovative and cost-effective solutions to rural educational challenges.  Grant dollars may be used to purchase technology, equipment, supplies, and other items necessary to complete the project.  Matching funds are preferred but not required.
Interested applicants should review the complete application guidelines in detail before submitting an application.  Visit to download an application, or stop by your local Mid-Rivers office to pick up an application form.  All applications must be postmarked or e-mailed to Mid-Rivers by September 30, 2013.
