Voters approve school levy

  A school levy nearly $26,500 passed with about 66 percent of the votes supporting the measure. Of the 302 ballots, 199 supported the operations levy for the school’s general budget, while 74 opposed the levy, leaving 29 ballots void, missing or unreturned, according to Superintendent Charles Deisher. 

School board incumbent Sherry Strasheim was re-elected to a 3-year term as trustee. Strasheim received 140 votes, while Michael Sterchi received 127 votes – 35 ballots were void, missing or unreturned.
The May 5 election drew in nearly 35 percent of the county’s 865 registered voters.
