Book club gives “Beautiful Ruins” 2 stars

Prairie County Library readers book club met on February 3 at the library with eight members present.

"Beautiful Ruins" by Jess Walters was the novel for discussion. It was given a 2 star rating for several reasons but the novel did spark some lively and spirited discussion.
Club members did agree that the best part of the novel was the Italian portions of the book.  One of our members did some research about the novel and found that it took Jess Walters 15 years to write this as he was having what is called writers block.
Our book for March is "The Secret Keeper" by Kate Morton.  We will meet on March 3rd at 7 p.m. at the library.  Anyone interested in joining is invited to attend.
