Roping club prepares for July 4th rodeo

The Terry Roping Club’s  61st Annual July Fourth  Rodeo is rapidly approaching. Beginning with a breakfast at about 7:30 a.m., the action packed day will be host to competitions for kids and adults alike.

At 9:00 a.m., the kids rodeo, open to children from todderlers through age 12, provides opportunities for the youngest cowboys and cowgirls to hone their skills. Events will include a stick horse barrel race, boot race, dummy roping, goat tying, barrel racing, and flag racing.
At 12:15, a calcutta will auction off cowboys and cowgirls in the saddle bronc and barrel racing events.
The afternoon will hold the day’s main events, kicking off with the bare-back riding competition, steer wrestling, pole bending and calf roping. Saddle bronc riding, kid’s calf undecorating, barrel racing, steer riding, ladies’ breakaway roping, wild sheep milking, and bull riding will round out the afternoon.
Admission will be $7 for adults, and  $4 for children  6 -12. Children under 6 are free.
