Lady Terriers come back to take second at divisional

In Eastern C divisional  tournament action the Terry Terriers  scored a second place finish, again fighting to the very end. The tournament, held in Sidney  November 5-7, showcased the Terrier tenacity and  drive with the Lady Terriers competing in a series of six matches over the course of the three-day tournament. 
In their first match, held Thursday morning, the Terry Terriers faced the Fairview Warriors. 
Fairview won in three sets, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19. 
Coach Jasmine Freiboth stated that, “It was after this loss we realized we needed to step it up and play hard; they had nothing to lose and needed to meet the challenge.”
Statistics for the match were as follows: Kills 33- Dani Dukart led with 18; Assists 30- Jordan freiboth led with 22; Aces 3- Amanda Haidle led with 2; Digs 31- Amy Browning led with 7; Blocks 6- Dani Dukart and Carly Stickel with 3 each. 
As they stepped it up, the Terriers faced the Ekalaka Lady Bulldogs in match two of the tournament. This time, it was the Terriers declaring victory in a three-set match 25-13, 25-18, 26-24. 
Statistics for the match were as follows: Kills 31- Dani Dukart led with 15; Assists 28- Amanda Haidle and Jordan Freiboth had 14  each; Aces 10- Amanda Haidle led with 4; Digs 29- Lorna Wollman led with 6; Blocks 9- Carly Stickel led with 6.
Game three for the Terriers brought them  face to face with the Scobey Spartan spikers.   Again, the Terriers were victorious in a three set match 25-15, 25-19, 25-18. 
Statistics for the match were as follows: Kills 41- Dani Dukart led with 20; Assists 38- Jordan Freiboth led with 21; Aces 6- Amy Browning led with 2; Digs 38- Lorna Wollman led with 8; Blocks 6- Dani Dukart and Carly Stickel with 3 each.
In their fourth match of the tournament, the Terriers faced the Saco-Hinsdale Panthers, soundly defeating them in another three-set match 25-14, 25-12, 25-19. 
Statistics for the match were as follows: Kills 36- Dani Dukart led with 18; Assists 28- Jordan Freiboth led with 16; Aces 24- Lorna Wollman and Carly Stickel led with 3 each; Digs 29- Lorna Wollman led with 8; Blocks 5- Dani Dukart led with 4. 
Match five again had the Terry Terriers lined up against the Fairview Warriors.  In a pivotal semi-final match, the Terriers made their comeback, defeating the team that had previously beaten them. 
While they lost the first set 14-25, they turned it around in the following three sets defeating the Warriors 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 ultimately capturing the four-set match to move on to the championship round. 
Statistics for the match were as follows: Kills 47- Dani Dukart led with 23; Assists 40-  Jordan Freiboth led with 20; Aces 7- Carly Stickel led with 3; Digs 42- Amy Browning led with 10; Blocks 3- Dani Dukart led with 2. 
The championship match pitted the Lady Terriers against a familiar rival - the Circle Wildcats.  
Following a three-set match, the Wildcats were declared District 2 champions. The Wildcats scored 25-16, 25-14, 25-17 leaving the Terriers with a second-place finish and a trip to the coveted State Class C volleyball tournament in Bozeman.
Statistics for the match were as follows: Kills 24- Dani Dukart led with 10; Assists 24- Jordan Freiboth led with 15; Aces 3- three players with one each; Digs 29- Lorna Wollman led with 6; Blocks 7- Dani Dukart led with 4 .
 Asked how she felt about the Terriers second place win, Coach Freiboth stated, “ It’s really exciting. We came together at the perfect time.” 
The all-class state volleyball tournament will take place in Bozeman from November 12-14.
