Downtown readies to ring in holiday spirit

With the holiday season drawing near, downtown Terry businesses are gearing up for the popular Terrific Tuesday events. Familiar and new activities have been planned for this year’s Tuesday night festive affairs.

Participating businesses will be open until 7 p.m. each Tuesday in December through Christmas.
Terrific Tuesday events include:
December 1
Santa is coming to Prairie County and will be visiting with boys and girls beginning at 4 p.m. at Stockman Bank. Hot dogs and hot cocoa will be served by bank personnel until 7 p.m.
The popular downtown light parade will begin at 6 p.m. and will include floats made by area businesses and organizations.
For more information on the parade please contact chamber member Inger Koppenhaver at 635-4066.
December 8
With a silver bell theme, shoppers and business owners alike will be entertained by downtown carolers. Caroling will begin at 5:30 p.m.
December 15
Each participating business will be serving up a sampling of a holiday feast to be enjoyed by traveling visitors. Sampling servings will begin at 5 p.m. and will include  “outlandishly named dishes,” according to chamber treasurer Ally Capps, who adds  “but good to eat!”
December 22
The final Terrific Tuesday will offer last minute shoppers in-store specials.
