Girls take two, while boys split home games

        The Terry boys’ varsity team enjoyed a Saturday evening win against the Ekalaka Bulldogs, but Friday’s match-up against the Hysham Pirates proved to be not as favorable for the home town team. The varsity boys ended Friday with a 63-45 loss to the Pirates, while Saturday’s game ended with a Terry win of 51-36.

Playing hard against the Hysham Pirates, the first half ended with only a six point Terry deficit. Although the Terriers came back in the second half ready to play defensively the Pirates dominated the court. Hysham won 63-45

During Saturday’s game against the Ekalaka Bulldogs, the Terry boys’ varsity team came up with a twelve point lead in the first half. When the boys returned for the second half, the Terriers made it a fifteen point lead. Terry took the win with a 51-36 final score.

The boys will be traveling to Rosebud alone on Friday, Feb. 12, because Rosebud doesn’t have a girls’ team. The boys’ and girls’ teams will then travel to Jordan on Saturday, Feb. 13. The boys’ junior varsity team will begin play at 4:30 pm with the varsity boys’ team finishing the evening’s game action starting at 7 pm.
The District 2C boys basketball tournament will be held Feb. 18-20 at Custer County High School in Miles City.


        The Lady Terriers played their final two home games of the regular season on Friday and Saturday. Playing gainst the Hysham Pirates on Friday, the varsity team ended with a 45-32 victory while Saturday’s game against the Ekalaka Bulldogs finished with a Terry win of 56-43.
In the Hysham game, after an evenly matched first half, Terry went into the locker room with only a one point lead. The Lady Terriers managed to pull ahead against the Pirates during a tough second half. The score against Hysham was 45-32 in Terry’s favor.

Saturday’s game against the Ekalaka Bulldogs was another win for the Lady Terriers, giving the team a 14-1 season record. In the first quarter the Bulldogs managed to pull ahead by one point. The Terriers then came back and battled for the lead, ending the first half with a 10-point lead.  
Although Ekalaka began to fight back in the second half, Terry’s offense and defense proved too much for the Bulldogs. Terry won the game 56-43.

Terry’s girls’ varsity team will play Glendive’s junior varsity team Thursday, Feb. 11 in Terry at 5:30 pm. The girls will then travel to Jordan on Saturday.
