From Prairie County Fair Board
The 2010 Prairie County Fair will have an exciting mixture of favorite traditional events and new attractions for fairgoers August 5 through 8. The Prairie County Fair Board received much positive feedback about the earlier fair dates in 2009 so they decided to schedule the Fair on the same weekend in 2010.
This year’s Fair will kick off with the 4-H and Open Class Horse Show Thursday afternoon, August 5th. The action will continue on Friday morning, August 6th, with the livestock show where swine, sheep and beef classes will be judged, including a Heifer Pen Jackpot Show. Friday evening’s entertainment will feature a performance by the always entertaining Parched Prairie Players.
A morning parade downtown in Terry will kick off Saturday’s events. Fairgoers can head out to the Fairgrounds after the parade to view the Open Class and 4-H exhibits on display. The Prairie Action League will host an action-packed Bump & Run in front of the grandstands in the afternoon. Later, 4-H members will offer their market livestock for sale at the 4-H Livestock Sale. Saturday evening will wrap up with a talent show featuring local and regional talent.
Sunday will begin with a Community Church Service, followed by the annual Prairie County Homemaker Pie Auction. The Terry Roping Club will be hosting a rodeo queen contest Sunday morning. Later that afternoon, the Roping Club will keep you on the edge of your seats during the Ranch Rodeo.
Kaleidoscope Entertainment will present Bouncy Boxing and Robo Surfer on the grounds for the kids Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The Prairie County Fair boasts some of the best food around, so folks are invited to enjoy the great variety of concessions offered by community groups. We hope you join us at “the biggest little fair in all of Eastern Montana!”
