During the regular Feb. 9 Terry Town Council meeting, which extended to Feb. 10, council members approved the purchase of a new Peterbilt garbage truck. The $181,777 truck from Montana Peterbilt of Billings came in as the low bid of eight bids submitted with prices ranging as high as $210,774.
Representatives offering bids attended the Feb. 9 evening meeting.
Council members opted not to approve purchase of the garbage truck that evening, but made the final decision during the Feb. 10 portion of the regular meeting, to allow the council more time to review each bid.
The new garbage truck could arrive as early as April 1, but a May arrival is expected, according to Mayor Ron Kiosse.
