Ten participants take part in Monday’s 4-H all events day

Ten Prairie County 4-H members competed in 4-H All Events Day on Monday June 7.  Contests that take place during All Events Day include Stir-Ups, Fashion and Quilt Revue, and Communications contests.  2010 All Events Day participants were Kelsey Grant (Stir-Ups), Deanna Loomis (Stir-Ups, Fashion and Quilt Revue), Alyssa Morast (Fashion Revue), Jessica Loomis (Stir-Ups, Fashion and Quilt Revue), Randee Shannon (Stir-Ups, Fashion Revue, Demonstration), Ashley Morast (Fashion Revue), Aaron Morast (Stir-Ups), Jason Loomis (Stir-Ups, Illustrated Talk), Sean Loomis (Stir-Ups, Illustrated Talk), and Travis Shannon (Stir-Ups, Demonstration).
In the Stir-Ups contest, contestants competed in two age divisions.  Junior A contestants made tortilla roll ups and Junior B contestants made chocolate chip cookies.  For the Fashion and Quilt Revue contest, contestants modeled the garments they sewed, showed the quilts they created, and answered interview questions.  The public was invited to attend the Communications contest where contestants presented demonstrations and illustrated talks.  Following the Communications contest, the public sampled items made during the Stir-Ups contest and watched the Fashion and Quilt Revue.  
  All Events Day concluded with an awards presentation.  Contest winners were:  
  Overall Stir-Ups Grand Champion-Jessica Loomis, Junior A Grand Champion- Jessica Loomis, Junior A Reserve Champion- Aaron Morast, Junior B Grand Champion- Travis Shannon, Junior B Reserve Champion- Deanna Loomis.
Overall Textiles Grand Champion- Ashley Morast, Fashion Revue Senior Grand Champion- Ashley Morast, Fashion Revue Junior Grand Champion Alyssa Morast, Fashion Revue Junior Reserve Champion- Deanna Loomis, Quilt Revue Junior Grand Champion- Jessica Loomis.
Overall Communications Grand Champion- Randee Shannon, Demonstrations/Illustrated Talks Junior Grand Champion- Randee Shannon, Demonstrations/Illustrated Talks Junior Reserve Champion- Travis Shannon.
