Local talent sought for Prairie County Fair

 Got talent?  The Prairie County Fair Board would like to know!  The Prairie County Fair will feature an amateur talent contest as its Saturday evening entertainment on August 7th.  

The Fair Board has offered $1,500 in cash prizes for the evening’s winners.  $500 will go to the winner of the adult division which is for ages 18 and older, $300 to the second prize winner, and $200 for third prize.  $300 will be awarded to the winner of the 10 to 17 year old age group and $200 to the winner of the 1 to 9 year old age group.
The planning committee for the Prairie County Fair Talent Contest is currently seeking talent for the contest.  Singing, instrumental, dance, magic, comedy acts are all encouraged to enter.  Interested contestants are asked to fill out an application form, submit a photo of themselves along with a cassette, video, or CD of them demonstrating their talent, a one page biography, and a description of their act.  Contact the Prairie County Extension Office for an entry packet.  Entry deadline is July 15th at 5:00 p.m.
Other Fair entertainment includes a play by the Parched Prairie Players on Friday night, a parade and the Prairie Action League Bump & Run on Saturday, and the Terry Roping Club Ranch Rodeo on Sunday.  2010 Fair dates are August 5-8.
