ISE (International Student Exchange) is a non profit organization founded in 1982 and has been granted a listing with the CSIET (Council on Standards for International Educational Travel) for every year of operation since its inception. It is fully compliant with all DOS regulations.
Our students arrive just before school starts and leave just after school ends in the spring. We receive students from over 55 countries and presently have students needing homes from Germany, Spain, China, Thailand, Mexico, Finland, Taiwan, Columbia and Vietnam.
Traditional families, single parents, retirees as well as empty nesters all make wonderful host families. We ask that a host family provide love, care, support, a room for sleeping quarters and meals (minus school lunches, which the student can purchase).
The students come with spending money for personal needs, full medical insurance, biography and a letter of application from the natural parents, photographs, letters of reference, original transcripts or grades, medical records and a signed letter of agreement to abide by the ISE program guidelines.
Each student is given an Orientation prior to departing his/her native country to inform and prepare them for their stay in the U.S. They are screened for their English, academic standing, and motivation. Assistance is provided for host families with selection and to help identify the specific interests of those you may choose. Ultimately, you select with whom you want to share your hearts and home.
