Win over Richey-Lambert gives Terry gridders 3-0 season
The Terry football team hosted the Richey-Lambert (R&L) Fusion on a cool Saturday afternoon coming away with a 74-41 victory to move to 3-0 on the season.
Terry started with the ball and on the first play from scrimmage Jerett Freiboth hit Weston Luedtke for a 63-yard touchdown.
The defense then forced a 3 and out giving the Terriers the ball back. A 55-yard reception by Trevor Pisk put the Terriers deep into Fusion territory. Three plays later Pisk scored on a 4-yard run giving Terry a 12-0 lead.
The Fusion then drove the field and scored on a 30-yard run by Cameron Johnson. After forcing a Terry punt, R&L drove the field and scored on a 10-yard pass play to tie the game at 12.
Terry put together a 9-play 60-yard drive with Freiboth finding Pisk for the 14-yard touchdown pass (Sergey Fredrickson pass from Freiboth).
On the ensuing drive R&L again put together a long drive and scored from 11 yards out bringing them within a point. Luedtke scored on a 63-yard run and the Terriers never looked back. Terry would score three more times before the half taking a 46-18 lead to the locker room.
The Fusion took the second half kickoff and drove the field to bring the score to 46-25.
Behind a strong running attack led by Luedtke, who found the end zone twice in the quarter, and a great defensive effort Terry took a 60-25 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Fusion scored early in the fourth to get within 60-33, but Trevor Pisk returned the kickoff 60 yards for the score to give Terry a 68-33 advantage.
R&L scored on their very next play, a 50-yard run by Jeremy Evenson.
Sergey Fredrickson would rush four times for 46 yards on the next drive scoring on a 1-yard run to end the game’s scoring.
Terry was led by Weston Luedtke who had 16 carries for 186 yards and 4 touchdowns; he also caught 2 passes both for scores gaining 103 yards. Luedtke had 365 total yards on the day. Jerett Freiboth was 7 for 10 for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns. The defense was led by Trevor Pisk with 16 tackles, followed by DJ Hubbert and Luedtke with 11 each.
