Commission considers how best to use CTEP funds

The Prairie County Board of Commission is seeking input on how best to use the county’s Community Transportation Enhancement Program (CTEP) funds. The county has about $90,000 to use for eligible CTEP projects.

Eligible projects include: Pedestrian and bicycle facilities, landscaping, rehabilitation of historic transportation buildings and structures and historic preservation. A complete list of eligible projects can be found at the Web site http//www.mdt.mt.gov/business/ctep/.
One project being considered for use of CTEP funds includes installing a new curb, gutter and sidewalk along the Prairie County Museum.
The focus of CTEP projects is to improve the transportation experience in local communities, according to the Montana Department of Transportation Web site. CTEP is a federally funded program.
Those with suggestions can call the county clerk and recorder’s office at 635-5575.
