School trustee deadline nearing, hospital opening draws two

As the March 24 filing deadline nears, no nominating petitions have been submitted for the two open school trustee seats, according to Terry School Clerk Cathy Kalmback.

The three-year positions are currently held by Scott Fredrickson and Elton Stickel. Both incumbents have requested petitions, but as of Tuesday afternoon neither had been returned, Kalmback said.
Petitions are to be turned into the school clerk’s office in the basement of the high school building by 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 24.
The write-in candidate deadline is April 7, for those candidates who miss the March 24 filing deadline.
Since the Montana Legislature has yet finalized school funding, school officials have not determined if a levy election will be held this spring.
Those seeking more information on the three year positions or who wish to pick up a petition form, can stop by Kalmback’s office or call 635-5533.
Hospital trustee position
The open hospital district seat, being vacated by longtime trustee Ruth Lekse, has drawn two candidates. They are: Lotty Rambur and Michael Sterchi. The election for the three-year hospital trustee position will either be held May 3 along with the school election or at a later date, depending on whether a school election is needed.
