Carl (Bud) Pisk, age 87, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Prairie Community Health

Center, in Terry, MT.
Bud was born September 7, 1923 to Joe and Katherine Fornall Pisk in Dawson County at his parents

home. Bud attended grade school at Echo Ridge School, and attended high school in Glendive, MT through the 10th

grade. Bud then began working with his dad on the family farm north of Fallon, MT. He began sharecropping

an adjoining farm at this time.

Bud married Bertha Netzer, his wife of 67 years, on April 22, 1944 in Glendive, MT. Together they continued sharecropping and working with his parents on the family farm. They continued this partnership until Bud’s parents

moved to Fallon in 1954. Together he and Bertha raised five sons and four daughters.

During this period of time Bertha moved into Fallon each school year so the kids could attend school. Bud worked the farm and looked forward to weekends and summers when his family could all be home. Bud was a self-taught musician who learned to play the accordion and guitar by ear. If Bud heard a song he could play it. He had many enjoyable times playing with his brothers, Frank and Joe, in a band called The Pisk Boys. They played many dances in Fallon at the F&R Club as well as country dances.

Bud enjoyed hunting with his brothers, sons, and friends. There was never a family gathering where Bud wasn't up for a game of whist or poker. Bud was also a member of the Terry Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Bud’s greatest legacy to his family was teaching them the meaning of hard work. He loved every aspect of farming and ranching and shared this love with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He got a twinkle in his eye each time he saw his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bud is survived by his wife Bertha, their children, Jerry (Sharon) Pisk of Terry, Judy (Donald) Ulrich of Fallon, Janice (Harold) Wallace of Terry, Sharon (Ron) Rosa of Bozeman, Shirley (David) Martin of Sterling, Colorado, Mike Pisk of Oakland, California, Tom (Kay) Pisk of Terry, Jim (Wendy) Pisk of Anchorage, Alaska, and Darryl Pisk (Molly Anderson) of Miles City; his grandchildren, Kevin, Duane, John, Rosanna, Becky, and Rachel Pisk, Mark Ulrich, Jeff Wallace (Heather Carter), Heather (Matt) Bunkers, Marty and Brandy Kimball, Cami (Matt) Cetlinski, Tony Martin, Sarah, Taylor, Trevor, Megan, and Callie Pisk; and several great-grandchildren; his brother Pete (Ella Mae) Pisk of Kalispell, and sister-in-laws Frances Pisk of Glendive and Darlane Pisk of Terry.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rose Buechler, Helen McHarry, and Mary Siostrzonek; and two brothers Frank and Joe.

A Vigil was held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Terry. A graveside service will follow

at the Prairie County Cemetery.
