Entry deadline nears for July 15 country music talent show in Miles


  Anticipation and excitement is higher than ever as aspiring country music artists prepare fro the 30th Annual Texaco Country Showdown at the Omni Center in Miles City on July 15. 

FM 101.3 KIKC will host America’s largest country music talent search and radio promotion, sponsored by Aaron’s, The Airport Inn, Brush Truck Repair & Wrecker Service, Dairy Queen, the Gold Dust Casino, Jewelry by Monte and Kelly’s Auto- all of Miles City; and Van’s IGA and the Yellowstone Healthmart Pharmacy in Forsyth.
The Omni Center, located at 2300 Plaza Boulevard in Miles City, will feature the best and most entertaining talent in our area.
Acts will compete for prizes and the opportunity to perform at the State Texaco Country Showdown. State winners vie for a $1000 cash prize and will advance to a regional competition in the fall. The five regional winners are awarded an all-expense paid trip to the National Final where they will compete for the $100,000 Grand Prize and the National Title.
Open to vocal and/or instrumental performers, the Texaco Country Showdown welcomes individual acts or groups with up to seven members to compete. Acts also must not have preformed on a record charted in the top 100 country format of Billboard, Radio and Records, or the Favin Report within eighteen months preceding the local competition. A $20.00 entry fee is required of all acts entering the Texaco Country Showdown competitions produced by participating country music radio stations.

Entries must be accompanied by an audition tape or CD and must be received no later than June 30th.
