Teams help raise $14K for cancer research

  Although Friday evening’s thunderstorm may have dampened conditions for Prairie County Relay for Life teams, it did little to dampen their fundraising efforts. Including the $3,600 raised at the Bras for a Cause event held in Terry earlier this spring, a total of just over $14,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society. 

That’s $2,000 more than last year’s total raised, according to organizer Joan Hubber.
“There was just really a great volunteer base,” Hubber said of Terry’s second annual Relay for Life. 
Thirteen local volunteers helped spearhead varying aspects of the fundraising event.
Funds raised will be used for cancer research, awareness and to help those undergoing treatment.
