Fallon makes plans for annual festival

In preparation for Fallon’s annual harvest festival, Fallon community members took part in a clean-up day July 23. About 35 people took part in the clean up of the Fallon Park and grounds uptown. Downed tree branches from a recent storm, along with six dead trees were removed.  Three tractors, four chainsaws, multiple pick-ups, a 4-wheeler with trailer, and half a dozen rakes, shovels, pitch forks and a wheelbarrow were used to complete the job.

The Fallon Village Council met July 14 to begin making plans for the 2011 Fallon Harvest Festival.
This year’s parade theme will be "Return of the Outlaws". A horseshoe tournament, games for young and old, ranch horse cutting competition, and barbecue lunch and supper are scheduled.
Entry forms can be picked up at Huber Enterprises in Fallon by mid-August.
The Fallon Harvest Festival is scheduled for September 4, kicking off with a 9 a.m. ranch cutting competition followed by the “Return of the Outlaws” parade, beginning at 1 p.m.
