Marking a week of significant changes at Buffalo Rapids Irrigation Project, commissioners of the BR Board of Control accepted a letter of resignation from BR project manager Dave Schwarz, as well as voting to voluntarily recognize union representation by BR employees.

While the Buffalo Rapids irrigation project has recently received publicity for its employee issues, which include a possible unionization, the budget issues are an even bigger concern, according to Buffalo Rapids Board of Control member-at-large Ric Holden.

Members of the Prairie County Grazing District met last month at the USDA building for their annual meeting.
Agenda items included discussion on land owned by the district which TransCanada’s Keystone Pipeline is scheduled to cross.
