Tough losses halt run for state

The Custer County District High School gym has proven to be an unfriendly venue for the Terry varsity girls’ basketball team this season. After a disappointing performance in the 4-C district tournament the Lady Terriers again loaded up and headed to Miles City for the Southern 4-C divisional tournament, - this time hoping for better results.

The Terry Lady Terriers went into the 4C District Tournament as the favorites. They were the top seed with a 15-2 record and a No. 7 ranking in the AP Power Poll.

The girls’ 4-C District tournament started on Wednesday for Terry’s Lady Terriers as they faced the St. Labre Lady Braves. Not surprisingly, as often happens in tournaments, being the top seed does not guarantee an easy victory.
Boys end season at District 4-C

The Terry Terriers varsity boys’ basketball team entered the district 4-C tournament with a bit of good news - sophomore guard Trevor Pisk was medically cleared to play. With that good news and knowing that they had split regular season games with Northern Cheyenne, their first tourney opponent, Terry had to be feeling better about their chances in the tournament.
Lantis places fourth at All-Class State tourney
It was an experience Terry’s two high school wrestlers are not likely to forget, and one, as freshmen looking to three more seasons ahead, will surely aspire to achieve again.

Terry varsity boys’ final three games of the regular season ended with two losses and one win.
Girls head to district tourney in top spot
Wrapping up their regular season, the Lady Terriers finished the week with two wins but fell short earlier Tuesday at N. Cheyenne. It is only their second loss of the season, putting Terry in the top seed for the District 4-C tournament to be held at the Custer County District High School gymnasium in Miles City, Feb. 17 - 20.
Girls take two, while boys split home games
The Terry boys’ varsity team enjoyed a Saturday evening win against the Ekalaka Bulldogs, but Friday’s match-up against the Hysham Pirates proved to be not as favorable for the home town team. The varsity boys ended Friday with a 63-45 loss to the Pirates, while Saturday’s game ended with a Terry win of 51-36.
Terry wrestlers qualify for state tourney in Billings
Glendive’s Red Devil wrestling team stopped Sidney’s 7-year-run on the Eastern A Divisional Title, Saturday, Feb. 6, taking first place and placing 14 of the team’s 18 wrestlers in the top four. Two of those 14 are Terry wrestlers that co-op with Glendive - Layne Lantis and Tyler Forcella.
Terry high school wrestlers qualify
High school wrestlers Tyler Forcella and Layne Lantis have qualified to compete in the upcoming divisional tournament. Forcella is ranked fourth in the 98-pound division, while Lantis is ranked third in the 125-pound division. Lantis has a 26-12 record while Forcella has a 19-12 season record.
