Eastern Montana’s weather has served up less than favorable results for this year’s track and field athletes — but that’s nothing new. Windy, rainy cold conditions with sprinklings of snow is something Terry High School head coach Leann Lantis says she has become accustomed to seeing each year.
Despite cooler temperatures, the Terry High School track team gathered Saturday with other area schools to compete in Baker.
The Terry High School track team competed at the Wibaux Invitational meet held in Glendive April 4 at the Dawson County High School track and field. Eighteen teams competed in the day’s events.

The Glendive wrestling team claimed the Eastern A divisional title Saturday in Laurel. Terry High School seniors Layne Lantis and Tyler Forcella, who co-op with the team, were among the 13 who placed in their weight classes — with Lantis earning first in the 135 weight class and Forcella earning third in the 130 class.
Weekend games found the Terry teams on top of the Hysham Pirates and Plevna Cougars. Terry hosted the Pirates Friday night for their final home game of the season while traveling to Plevna Saturday.
Terry’s Tyler Forcella and Layne Lantis continue to excel for the Glendive Red Devil’s wrestling team. The two Terry High School seniors earned top ratings in a statewide coaches poll recently. The results are listed below.
