Emma Maier Koenig, 86 of Winnett, Mont., was unexpectedly called to her maker after enjoying a root beer float at the home of her daughter on March 16, 2013. On November 16, 1926, the world’s best cook was born in Kulm, N.D., to Fred K. and Magdalena (Schock) Maier. Emma had three older brothers: Harold and the twins Reuben “Pete”, and Walter. When Emma was two years old, the family moved to a small homestead near Brockway, Mont.
