The 2020 Prairie County Chamber of Commerce successfully held their Parade of Lights, with a few modifications, on Dec. 1. Cheryl Morrison was the parade director. The parade included floats by the American Legion, the Cougar Creek 4-H Club, the Happy Valley 4-H Club, the county courthouse, and emergency responders. The parade route was extended this year to allow space for social distancing, and no walkers or bikers or candy was involved. Although participation was down slightly, viewers still lined the route to show their holiday spirit. The American Legion members invited the 4-H members to learn to fold flags following the parade.
